Designed
after a Louis XVI table when the stylistic motifs returned to classical Greek
and Roman sources. The artist's approach was to create an elegant and
practical buffet with unconventional materials. The top is salvaged marble
with rusticated edges, the aprons and drawer fronts are repousse copper panels,
the capitols and ball feel are ebonized wood and the legs are galvanized
steel. The hanging garlands are made from aluminum cable.
Shown
with Corrugated Mirror and a pair of Kang
Hsi Vases. The platter is by others.
