In 1995 the Warner Brothers Studios
commissioned Evan to build several sculptures for their upcoming movie - The Twister,
starring Helen Hunt and
Bill Paxton. The movie studio also rented several existing sculptures, one of them being a piece
entitled "Beauty Can". The sculptures
created the artistic oeuvre of the movie character Aunt Meg, who in addition to cooking a mean steak also made kinetic wind-powered sculptures.
It was indeed one of these sculptures that gave Jo (Helen Hunt) the idea how
to improve Dorothy (the tornado measuring apparatus). The photos below are from
the installation of the sculptures on the movie set. |
